FCH Tutorial added values

The FCH Tutorial will provide a basic understanding of technical, chemical and physical principles that make fuel cells work simply, reliably and affordably. Fuel cell application requirements and practical examples of current developments will be discussed. Fuel cells will be treated as an interdisciplinary matter involving electrochemistry as well as materials science and process engineering. This year the focus will be on all types of fuel cells.

The FCH Tutorial addresses newcomers as well as those who have been working in the area of fuel cells and/or hydrogen for some time. Participants will gain a basic understanding of fuel cell technology or add expert know-how and practical experience to already existing understanding and knowledge. Moreover, fuel cells will be discussed in view of potential applications, the fuels required, and the market introduction issues related to that. The Tutorial will be held in English, making it a useful introduction for newcomers to the global world of fuel cells.

The FCH Tutorial will provide an excellent kick-start into the 7th European Low Temperature Fuel Cells/Electrolysers & H2 Processing Forum, a week of exposure to the latest developments in fuel cells. During the Tutorial you will receive answers to questions before you have to ask them, as well as the chance to ask questions you may not dare to voice in front of a general audience. Opportunity for discussions is provided.

Each participant will receive a complete documentation of the Tutorial lectures, with many useful illustrations, tables and graphs.

The FCH Tutorial lecture will cover the following contents

Fuel cell reactions, thermodynamics, kinetics, triple-phase boundary, efficiency, different types of electrolytes, cell and stack structures, fuel and air supply, internal and external fuel reforming, fuels for fuel cells, typical applications fuel cell systems and market introduction for the most popular types of fuel cells: PEFC, DMFC, AFC, PAFC, MCFC, and SOFC as well as hydrogen and fuel supply (see the preliminary content).
